It is the goal of the Waterford Adult Education Center (WAEC) to encourage the development of life-long learning skills. No matter the circumstance, it is always beneficial to enhance our education to keep up with the demands of an ever complex job market. WAEC's main goal is to assist students in obtaining their high school diploma thus benefiting their lives and their economic outlook.

Being Prepared for Today's World
WAEC offers a course for those wanting to expand their workforce skills and open the door for new possibilities - Computer Applications. Growing a new skill is beneficial and advantageous for any adult student as it can build your confidence, open opportunities for getting a job or be the first step on the journey of going to college and/or a trade school.
Computer Applications is a course for those wanting to learn the basics to more advanced skills. Students can enroll and based on their level of skill, the teacher will work with them to craft a plan to expand their skills with common applications used in clerical applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, as well as typing, general usage and navigation to name a few. Come check it out and expand your computer knowledge!
Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00pm at Sentinel High School, room 902.
High School Diploma
For the adult student who aspires to earn their high school diploma, now is the time to enroll. We do offer an accelerated academic program for students 18 years or older and have attended high school for four years, to earn their diploma and there is no fee for attending the diploma program. Students who enroll in the diploma program will earn and learn at their own pace.
As a reminder:
There are no fees for the diploma program.
Students are required to complete 180 credits.
When you sign up, it would be advisable to bring school transcripts (unofficial is sufficient) from your last school attended.
Students receive academic assistance from the instructor while in class.
Classes available online so you can work on them around your schedule
If you do not have your high school diploma and getting a job or attending college or a trade school is just one of your many goals, enrolling in the Waterford Adult Education Diploma program may be just what you are looking for.
Course work is completed online and meeting times with a teacher are scheduled weekly, either via phone, text, or with virtual meetings such as Google Meet.
