This morning, as part of our Red Ribbon Week finale, students in grades 7-12 had the powerful opportunity to hear Johnny’s story, shared by his mother, Laura Stack. Johnny was a bright, talented young man whose life was tragically altered by his use of marijuana products. Unlike in decades past, today’s marijuana contains much higher levels of THC—potent chemicals that can profoundly affect the developing brain. Laura’s heartfelt message urged students to avoid marijuana products and prioritize their physical and mental well-being. Ending Red Ribbon Week with Johnny's story served as a powerful reminder of the importance of making choices that protect our health and our future.

At the end of the month staff members have the opportunity to nominate a student of their choice for the monthly character trait. The month of October was PROFESSIONALISM, and this group of students were awarded with a surprise pizza party for their exemplification of conducting themselves in a manner that positively reflects their work ethic.
Great job students! We are so proud of you!

We hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween! The school day was filled with many festivities including, "Movie Character Dress-up Day", Halloween festivities in Ms. Medeiros' classroom, and an informative "Vape Walkthrough" hosted by the Phast JV Club.

Today’s theme for Red Ribbon Week is HAT DAY! The students had the opportunity during lunch to list alternative options to drugs as well as meet some of our local
Firefighters who presented the opportunity for students to pledge to say NO to drugs, tobacco, and alcohol.

Yesterday was SPORTS DAY for Red Ribbon Week and the students had the opportunity to show off their dance skills during lunch with a DJ. They had a great time participating in various challenges and dances. #redribbonweek #WUSD
