Family Picnic Day Fun! 🌞 Yesterday was our Family Picnic Day and WOW what an amazing turnout! It was such a joy to see all the families spread out on blankets, sharing snacks from picnic baskets, and enjoying the sunshine together. The weather could not have been more perfect! We’re so grateful for everyone’s patience and positivity you helped make the day so special. If you weren’t able to make it, no worries! Science Came to Life in Our Classrooms! 🐢🦎 This week, our students had a blast diving into hands-on science with the Great Valley Museum's Travel Teacher Program right in their own classrooms! During the Lights and Rainbows session, curious young scientists experimented with prisms, explored how light bends, and discovered how primary colors blend into the beautiful rainbows we see in the sky. The excitement on their faces when they created their own mini rainbows was priceless! Then came the Animal Adventure 🐾 and what an adventure it was! Students got up close with real animals, including a California toad, a California desert tortoise, and even an African sand boa (yes, a snake... and yes, the kids were fascinated!). The room was full of wide eyes, brave hands, and so many great questions about habitats, adaptations, and how animals survive in the wild. It’s one thing to read about science in a book—but it’s another to feel it, see it, and hold it in your hands. Autism Awareness Week was a BLAST! 💙 Our students celebrated all week long with spirited dress-up days that brought big smiles and even bigger hearts! From wearing hats to favorite sports team gear, they showed what it means to support and include everyone. 🧩 We wrapped it up on Friday, April 4th with a sea of blue for Light It Up Blue and a joyful parade that lit up our halls with pride, unity, and love! Our 1st Graders Had a Great Time at Hilmar Cheese! 🧀🍦 Our first grade students enjoyed a fun and educational field trip to the Hilmar Cheese Company Visitor Center. They learned all about the cheesemaking process through interactive exhibits and hands-on activities that brought science and agriculture to life. One of the highlights of the day was making and tasting their own ice cream a sweet treat after all that learning! Students also had a blast playing the AgXscape game, where they explored agriculture in a fun, team-based adventure. A big thank you to Hilmar Cheese for providing such a memorable experience. Our students had an incredible time at our NED Yo-Yo Assembly, where they were engaged, inspired, and full of excitement! NED, the lovable character whose name stands for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best, brought powerful messages of perseverance, kindness, and a growth mindset through an interactive and entertaining show. The energy in the room was contagious as students watched in awe, cheering and laughing while learning impressive yo-yo tricks woven into uplifting storytelling. Seeing their faces light up as they discovered the fun and skill behind yo-yos made the experience even more memorable! Our 3rd graders had an exciting visit to LWIS, getting a sneak peek into what’s ahead in 4th grade! 🎉 Mr. Smith walked them through expectations, behavior rewards, and instructional norms—making it fun with engaging visuals and even a Bobcat Roar practice! 🐾 Students loved meeting King Bob, spinning the Wheel of Names for awesome Bobcat swag, and touring the campus with 6th-grade leaders. From classrooms to the library, playground, and more, they got a real feel for their future school.
