THANK YOU to all who have served! Veterans Day, or Armistice Day, was founded in honor of the cessation of hostilities between the Allied forces and Germany in World War I. The fighting ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, we honor our veterans on November 11th. #WaterfordCares #WUSD

Today, our school celebrated in the most special way—with our Monthly Attendance Assembly dedicated to honoring veterans! We invited local heroes to join us, and it was a truly moving experience as our students showed their heartfelt appreciation for those who have served. 🎶 From singing patriotic songs to presenting heartfelt letters of gratitude created by our talented 3rd graders, the assembly was filled with pride, respect, and love for our veterans. It was amazing to see so many students dressed in red, white, and blue, each one proudly showing their support and admiration. You're invited to the ELOP Cultural Showcase! Join us TODAY, October 24, from 3:30-5:30 at Richard M Moon Primary for the ELOP Cultural Showcase, open to all families in the district. Come enjoy a display of artwork and crafts created during the expanded learning program from students in grades TK-8, and sample a variety of delicious foods at no cost, including spicy Aztec chocolate, blini with cream, stroopwafels, vegetable spring rolls, cornbread, Peruvian nuts, tamales, and hummus. Don’t miss the folklorico dance performance by our students from 4:15-4:30. We look forward to celebrating with you!
