Join us TODAY, October 24, from 3:30-5:30 at Richard M Moon Primary for the ELOP Cultural Showcase, open to all families in the district. Come enjoy a display of artwork and crafts created during the expanded learning program from students in grades TK-8, and sample a variety of delicious foods at no cost, including spicy Aztec chocolate, blini with cream, stroopwafels, vegetable spring rolls, cornbread, Peruvian nuts, tamales, and hummus. Don’t miss the folklorico dance performance by our students from 4:15-4:30.

This week, we celebrated Fire Prevention Week at our school! Our students had an amazing time during the fire prevention assembly, where they learned about the importance of fire safety. The local firefighters brought their fire truck, and the kids were so excited to see it up close! They also practiced important safety steps like "Stop, Drop, and Roll" in case of a fire. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone. Thank you to our local fire department for keeping us safe and helping our students learn how to be prepared!

It's hard to believe, but school starts next week! We're so excited to welcome all our students back to campus. As we gear up for the new school year, here are a few important reminders for the first few days:
* August 12-14 are minimum days.
* Back to School Night is on August 14.
* Parents are welcome to walk their children to class for the first couple of days.
* Students can arrive as early as 7:15 AM to enjoy breakfast before school begins.
* Parents needing transportation assistance must complete a ridership application before their child can ride the bus.
* Students must be registered and accepted into the Expanded Learning Program to participate in after-school activities.
* Please plan ahead for the first several weeks, as roads and parking lots tend to be more congested.
